Truck Drivers: Deliveries & Pickups at AP&J Recycling
Hauling a load to or from our Fort Worth plant? Here’s what you need to know before you arrive. Brokers and dispatchers: please send this page to your driver with the load details.
Road work on Haltom Road: until the work is finished (expected around Christmas 2026), use 1st Street to reach Haltom Road. Call the office if you’re unsure of the route.

Before You Arrive
- Book an appointment. We don’t take walk-up loads. Alexandria Teplicek, our CSR Manager of Trading & Freight, schedules every pickup and delivery by email or phone.
- Have your numbers ready. Bring the PO number or the delivery/release number for your load.
- Check whether you need a scale ticket. It depends on the load, and we’ll tell you when you book. See scale tickets below.
- Bring load straps or load bars. Depending on the load, we prefer drivers have them on board.
When You Get Here
- Come to the gate. We have one gate for trucks. Call the office at 682-841-1303 or dispatch at (817) 307-9846 when you’re there.
- Wait for your dock. If you’re next, we’ll have you wait in front of the gate, which fits two trucks. If the docks are full, we’ll send you to wait at Fuel City or on Wheeler Street until we’re ready.
- Back in. We have two docks and a pad with dock plates. Dock 2 and the pad are the easiest if it’s your first time here.
- Stay with your truck. Drivers stay in their trucks while we load or unload. Our warehouse team brings the paperwork to your truck to sign.
Arriving early or late
Call as soon as you know. If you’re early and we can fit you in, we’ll pull you in. If you’re well ahead of your time and we aren’t ready, we’ll send you to Fuel City or Wheeler Street to wait. If you’re running late, call the office or dispatch so we can plan around you.
Scale Tickets
Whether a load needs a scale ticket depends on the load, and we’ll tell the customer ahead of time when we need one. We prefer CAT scale tickets. The closest CAT scale is at Fuel City, 1715 Haltom Road, Haltom City, TX 76117, just up the street. If you arrive without a ticket we need, we’ll send you there to get one.
Safety on Site
- Stay in your truck while it’s being loaded or unloaded.
- Need the restroom? That’s fine. Go straight there and straight back to your truck.
- Keep to 5 to 10 mph in the yard.
Most loads take under two hours. If we expect yours to take longer, we’ll tell you when you book. Some days several trucks arrive at once, so if you’re on a tight schedule, call ahead and we’ll give you our best estimate.
